Fueled by Forged Composite
Forged Composite is the result of a unique partnership between the R&D teams of Callaway and supercar maker Lamborghini. Forged Composite is one-third the density of titanium, yet features a greater load carrying capacity per unit mass in bending. The Diablo Octane crown contains 10 million turbostratic carbon fibers – 500,000 per square inch – set with six tons of force during the forging process to reinforce 33 percent of the clubhead. These ultra-light, thin-walled components result in lower total head weight and optimized mass properties that make the Diablo Octane Driver lighter, faster, stronger.
Hyperbolic Face Technology
Callaway uses Hyperbolic shaping and a unique chemical reduction process to strategically remove excess material from areas of the titanium face and achieve precision thickness control. This produces consistently high ball speeds for long distance, even on off-center hits and on shots hit across all areas of the face.
Project X7E7 Graphite Shaft
The longer, high-performance shaft is designed with feedback and input from our Tour pros and is the ideal complement to the Diablo Octane Driver to maximize performance and enhance feel. What do supercars and golf clubs have in common? Nothing, untill Callaway and Lamborghini teamed up to develope a new carbon composite that's one-third less dense than titanium. Implementing it in the head of the Callaway Diablo Octane dropped the club's centre of gravity, letting designers lengthen the shaft by half an inch. In real world terms, that means the ball will launch off the tee like a Gallardo at a drag strip.

This tour version is even better than the noraml diablo Octane driver. The 450cc head combined with the Project X shaft creates a penetrating ball flight which allows the player to really work the ball off the tee. The Octane Tour is 1* open at address and this really suits the eye of the better golfer. Through the forged composite material makes this clubhead very light and therefore allows the golfer to get through the ball at a higher speed and therfore create more distance.
