Dunlop

Founded in 1909, Dunlop Sport is famous for its world championship level and pioneering tennis, golf and squash equipment. In 1936, there were more Dunlop tennis rackets at Wimbledon than any other brand and more than 60% of all players at the Wimbledon Championships used the rackets during the 1960s. The first injection moulded racket was made by Dunlop in 1980, which consequently won the Queen’s award for technological achievement in 1985. In 2007, the Dunlop’s Aerogel tennis racket made headlines for combining power and stability.

Dunlop tennis balls made sporting history by becoming the first official ball supplier to be used for the complete clay court season in 2010 and continues to be the official ball supplier for Europe’s leading clay court tournaments. There are currently several world ranked tennis ambassadors for Dunlop including Fernando Verdasco.

Dunlop makes the official squash ball of the Professional Squash Association, the Women’s Squash Association and the World Squash Federation. Also known as the world’s number one squash brand, three time world champion squash player Nick Matthew uses a Dunlop squash racket.

Dunlop Sport has been making golf balls for more than 100 years. Golfing greats such as Arnold Palmer played with the famous ‘65’ golf ball and it reigned supreme for 50 years. Today, Dunlop Sport has expanded and become even more involved in golf with its clothing sponsorship of golf professional Lee Westwood.
