Adam Scott is making 2013 a year to remember. Having secured his first major victory at the Masters in April, the 33-year-old pulled out all the stops on Sunday to win The Barclays, just one-stroke ahead of
Tiger Woods,
Justin Rose, Gary Woodland and Graham DeLaet.
“I'm pretty shocked,” said the Australian afterwards. “There were so many guys out there with a chance and I really didn't think I had much of a chance. If you hang around the lead long enough, you're going to win some, you're going to lose some.”
Although Scott hadn’t won since Augusta, he has consistently been at the top-end of the leaderboard throughout the season. Coming in tied for third at The Open in July and tied for fifth at the PGA Championship earlier this month.
The Titleist player, whose victory has propelled him to the number two ranking in the world, is now looking firmly ahead to the remaining FedExCup playoff events.
“It's been a great year for me. Got to keep it going now, three big weeks in the play-offs left and hopefully I can cap it off with a big win in the FedExCup.”
