“Craziness” of the Past Weeks Forces Stacey to Pull Out of Canadian Open

“Craziness” of the Past Weeks Forces Stacey to Pull Out of Canadian Open
The jubilation Stacey Lewis experienced earlier this month as she won on the Old Course at St Andrews came tumbling down last week as the American and her team failed to recapture the Solheim Cup.  Losing the trophy for the first time on home soil. It seems the highs and lows have finally caught up with the 28-year-old as she announced Friday she was pulling out of the Canadian Women’s Open due to illness.

The current number two-player in the world was set to begin the second round yesterday, nine strokes behind the current leaders. But after telling reporters on Thursday that “Honestly, I need to get away from it right now.  Probably the best thing I could do is just walk away,” Lewis took to twitter on Friday to apologise to fans and let them know she was in desperate need of a rest.
