One keen golfer can now take steps to improving his game at home after having a four-hole putting green installed in his back garden.
Ron and Ethel Turnbull decided that they wanted a low-maintenance garden and decided that replacing the grass with Astro Turf would serve this purpose.
However, 63-year-old Mr Turnball got the idea that adding some holes could improve his performance with his
golf putter and his wife was happy to go along with the suggestion.
He told the Daily Mail: "It has improved my game having the course in the garden - it's a serious practice facility.
"Now I don't need to go down to the golf club to practice my game. I practice at home every day."
Mrs Turnbull even does her bit on the £20,000 development by ensuring that it is regularly vacuumed.
There are many ways that players can increase their chances of sinking more
golf balls on the putting surface, including becoming better at reading greens and keeping their eyes steady when stood over a ball.
