Goosen maintains competitiveness when creating wine
Retief Goosen insists that he maintains his competitive spirit and passion in his other keen hobby away from the golf course.

The TaylorMade golf clubs user owns a vineyard in his homeland in South Africa and calls his end products 'Goose Wine'.

After beginning growing plants in 2005, the 41-year-old has received numerous honours, including collecting two silver medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2009.

Speaking to the St Petersburg Times, Goosen is hoping to expand the wines to new regions and continue to offer a high-quality product to customers.

He said: "I want to make sure we have the best wine possible and that things are being done properly. I'm the same way in golf.

"It's selling well in South Africa. We think we may have a distributor for the US and hopefully we can get it there soon."

Goosen turned professional as a golfer in 1990 and has since triumphed on seven occasions on the PGA Tour, 14 times on the European Tour and picked up two major victories - both at the US Open in 2001 and 2004.
