Chris Evans has revealed that it was a combination of his decision to lead a healthier life and the help of friend Ronan Keating that caused him to meet his current wife.
The soon-to-be BBC Radio 2 host decided that hitting some
golf balls on a regular basis would help prevent him from killing his spare time with sessions in the pub.
And it was a round on the golf course with the Boyzone singer that he came across Natasha Shishmanian for the first time.
According to the Herald, Mr Evans explained: "Golf has saved me from a lot of things - it takes up a lot of time, keeps you out of the pub, keeps you in the open air, and I respect the game.
"And suddenly I walk on to a golf course and the most beautiful person I've ever seen playing golf is about to take a tee shot."
Mr Keating then revealed her name and that she worked for a golf magazine, which sparked the start of their romance.
The BBC also used Mr Evans as a roving on-course commentator during the 2009 Open Championship, which was won by
Nike golf driver user Stewart Cink.
