Italian brothers Francesco and Edoardo Molinari came with a late swoop to overhaul long-time leaders Ireland and hand Italy a first ever victory in the Omega Mission Hills World Cup.
The
Nike Victory Red Forged Split Cavity golf irons user and his older brother Edoardo carded a 68 in the final-round foursomes to finish the tournament at 29 under par.
This was enough for a one-shot victory over Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell, who had led since the opening 18 holes, and last year's winners Sweden.
Italy found themselves three shots adrift at the midway point of their final round, but Francesco sunk a trio of successive birdie putts with his
Nike One Tour D golf balls on the back nine to turn the leaderboard around.
He said: "It feels really good obviously. We haven't realised yet what we have done, but we played great for all week and today (November 29th) we just had to hang in there and try to finish it off in the last few holes.
"We were lucky to hole a couple of good putts just after the turn, which was really important to put us in front of everybody. I think we just played some great golf for all week, so it was amazing."
The brothers also experienced Mission Hills in the event last year when they finished 20 shots behind Swedish duo Robert Karlsson and Henrik Stenson in a share of 19th place.
