La Manga in line for golf travel award
The Spanish resort of La Manga is in the running for a top golf travel award, it has been announced.

Specialising in leisure facilities, including golf and tennis, the development has been shortlisted for the Luxury Golf Resort Category at the upcoming World Luxury Hotel Awards.

Players heading to the golf haven in southern Spain will not go short of a round – there are three championship courses to choose from.

Even if holidaymakers feel that their game could do with some brushing up, golf tuition is available for players of all abilities.

The German PGA uses La Manga as its winter training base, giving an indication of how highly-regarded the resort is in golfing circles.

International tournaments which have graced the fairways of La Manga's courses include the Spanish Open, PGA Spanish Championships and Ladies' Spanish Open, as well as the Senior Spanish Open for men and Junior Championships.
