Golfers that enjoy playing on links courses have been pointed to the west of Ireland by one golf travel expert.
Writing on the US PGA Tour's official website, David Brice has highlighted a number of venues in the western region of the Emerald Isle.
Among them are the picturesque County Sligo Golf Club, which straddles the Atlantic at Rosses Point.
Brice wrote: "Many Americans can trace their roots back to this part of traditional Ireland, which is also Yeats country, the source of inspiration for Ireland's Poet Laureate.
"It does the very same for its visitors - golfers included - with dramatic links courses that are as challenging as they are good-looking."
Also picked out was Enniscrone Golf Club, which was named Golf Course of the Year in 2008 by the Ireland Golf Tour Operators Association.
Enniscrone is a 27-hole venue, which is known for its characteristic undulating dunes.
