Callaway Golf does the thinking for players heading on golf breaks

Tuesday 17 November, 2009
With darkness beginning to descend earlier by the day in the continued build-up to Christmas, some may call it a wise idea that many of the new products from Callaway Golf are aimed at players looking forward to a break.

Taking out their golf bag in England in the coming weeks is going to be tough for the typical nine-to-five worker, with annual leave or a quick weekend round the only real possibilities until the spring.

However, to get around this dilemma, some players may decide to spend a few days away in sunnier climates, where they will not be hitting their golf balls in the dark or coming home soaking wet.

When heading away for their breaks there are a number of things that a player would be advised to take, alongside their golf clubs, golf clothing and golf shoes.

Some of these items may help a player's golf equipment become more resistant to damage, whether the items are placed in the boot of a car for a driving trip or in the travel areas inside an aeroplane.

Among these is the Callaway Sports Travel Cover, which is a padding that offers extra protection to golf clubs.

Club heads are further shielded by an inside wrap-around layer, while four pockets feature to allow players to store other items they may need for a round.

One of these has been deliberately made larger to hold golf shoes, but players may also wish to take alternative action to make sure their footwear avoids getting scuffed or spikes are lost from the sole.

This could mean purchasing a Callaway Sports Shoe Bag.

An interior divider is present to prevent the shoes from contacting each other, while a mesh pocket could be used to store extra spikes, laces or a specialist shoe cleaner.

Golfers will also need to remember their clothes and daily toiletry items.

The Callaway Sports Toiletry Case is made of the same nylon as the items mentioned above and features four zipper pockets and an additional mesh compartment.

In terms of the new clothing options from Callaway Golf, the Callaway Flat Front Twill Trousers have a classic look and offer comfort and skin kindness through being made of 100 per cent twill cotton material.

Meanwhile, for the chillier days, golfers may prefer the Callaway Half-Zip Colorblock Pullover, which is made of polyester microfleece and includes an adjustable drawstring cord.

As an additional treat before heading on their golf break, a player may wish to try to improve their game by becoming more versatile with the shots they perform.

One club that helps with this is the Callaway X Series Jaws Chrome golf wedge.

Feel and consistency are boosted by the use of Tour-level forged carbon steel, while aggressively-sized grooves help bring more spin and control to a player's game.

The golf wedge is available with four different lofts between 52 and 60 degrees and can be bought by both right-handed and left-handed players.
