Daly gives thumbs up to adidas golf apparel
Two-time major winner John Daly has given his seal of approval to Adidas Golf Apparel and Golf Clothing after being spotted in one of the brand's sweaters at last week's British Open, CNBC reports.

Unusually, Daly is not sponsored by TaylorMade-adidas, meaning the company gained exposure free of charge.

However, this did not deter Daly, nicknamed 'Wild Thing', from sporting the jumper in the first round at St Andrews.

"He's not under contract with us anymore," Christa McNamara, spokeswoman for TaylorMade-adidas, told the news provider.

"No one on our team knows where he got the sweater. It could be ten years old or he could have bought it at the merchandise tent."

Ms McNamara also confirmed that Daly has been using a TaylorMade Rossa Corza Ghost Putter of late, again without incentive.

Daly's major championship victories came at the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 British Open, which was also held at St Andrews.
