Galvin Green Wind Winter Gloves offer hope to chilly golfers
Sandy Lyle is no stranger to controversy. Take last year, for instance, when the two-time major champion landed himself in hot water after publicly accusing Colin Montgomerie of a "form of cheating" when competing at the 2005 Indonesian Open.

Montgomerie was reluctant to talk about the spat at the time, putting it down to bitterness on the part of Lyle, who he had beaten to the job of 2010 Ryder Cup captain.

Lyle, though, was unwilling to let the issue drop and proceeded to dig himself into a bigger hole by accusing his fellow Scot of being a "drama queen" for the way he had reacted.

The incident came a year after Lyle had quit the British Open at a weather-affected Royal Birkdale after just ten holes.

At the time, many observers thought the fact he had dropped 11 shots in the opening ten holes contributed to his decision to walk off the course.

However, Lyle later said that the underlying cause was an old hand injury which affects him in cold temperatures.

"I've had sore hands and knuckles for a couple of years now," he explained at the time.

"I have been playing most of this year pain-free but in the cold weather, which you don't really expect in July around Birkdale, a couple of skanky shots didn't help at all.

"I was playing with almost numb knuckles on my left hand and I couldn't really continue."

Whatever his reasons, Lyle's withdrawal in the middle of the round cannot have helped his bid to become Ryder Cup captain.

Indeed, things could have been so much different had he picked up a pair of Galvin Green Wind Winter Gloves - his reputation would be untarnished, he would have had a greater chance of landing the Ryder Cup job and he would have avoided the unseemly quarrel with Monty.

The gloves are designed for use in cold weather and help to ensure that the skin is not exposed to the elements.

This should help to ensure golfers avoid numb fingers and vibrations being sent up their arm when they make a bad connection with a golf ball on a bitterly cold day.

Crucially, the gloves are fully windproof thanks to a Gore Windstopper laminated membrane.

Even so, they have a high level of breathability and moisture is quickly transported away from the body.

Other features of the Galvin Green Wind Winter Gloves include good durability and stretch fit options to enable movement and swing.

The garment can also be combined with other Galvin Green products such as the Galvin Green Sky Hat and Galvin Green Atwell Full Zip Gore-Tex Jacket to ensure maximum comfort in cold conditions - something Lyle was clearly without on that fateful July day in 2008.
