The TaylorMade R9 460cc driver can help amateur golfers significantly reduce their scores, it has been suggested.

Writing a review for golfreview.com, Henry van Rooyen says he has been able to take ten shots off his average score since switching to the TaylorMade R9 460cc model.

Now shooting in the 80s, Mr Van Rooyen had been playing with a TaylorMade Burner driver he acquired in 2007.

While he was getting good results with his old driver around 40 per cent of the time, he is now hitting good shots nine times out of ten.

Crucially, this has helped to lower his score because he is far more likely to find the middle of the fairway.

He also gets good length off the tee, averaging between 260m and 290m and with a longest drive of 322m.
