Players looking for a solid
golf driver that does the job of helping them boom long shots down the fairway off the tee may want to sample the
Titleist 909D3 golf driver, a reviewer has noted.
Citing an opinion for Golf Gear Review, an amateur player known as greg9459 revealed that he was "very happy" with the club and was particularly impressed with the smaller 440cc head, compared with other offerings on the market.
The titanium driver follows a classic pear profile design and has been created with the aim of providing players with a mid launch and low spin to generate greater distance.
This reduced spin is aided by a low and deep CG, while
golf ball speed is maximised across the face through the inclusion of a CNC milled insert with thicker, centrally-located trapezoidal rings.
One slight negative that the reviewer pointed out is that he would have a preferred a more flexible shaft, which may have provided him with a higher ball flight and increased distance.
Some of the top professionals on the PGA Tour have the Titleist 909D3 driver in their
golf bags, including Geoff Ogilvy and world number three Steve Stricker.
