Next month sees the launch of the
R11 irons from TaylorMade - the manufacturer of choice for the winner and runner-up of the Open last month, Darren Clarke and Dustin Johnson.
The technology behind the R11 irons - each of which is fitted with tour velvet grips - is based on the innovations made during the development of the hugely successful R11 driver.
All of the TaylorMade R11 irons have an ultra-thin face which promotes faster ball speed and distance, while the Inverted Cone Technology is more forgiving when a player hits an off-centre strike.
Meanwhile, the multi-functional sole makes any lie more playable and the groove design promotes increased spin and control.
A reviewer on Golfwrx.com described the R11 irons - which can be reserved now before they hit the shelves on September 1st - as "a lot of fun to play".
"You feel like you can go after it and hammer the ball with great results", they added.
