Rife putters 'encourage positivity'
Every golfer is looking for that little bit extra in their bag to give them a competitive edge and that can often mean investing in one club that makes all the difference.

That may involve buying a new driver to ensure the majority of tee shots hit the fairway or getting hold of a new pitching wedge for those tricky chips to the pin.

It all depends on which part of a player's game needs the most tweaking.

For those that need help with their putting - and there are certainly many of those - spending a few pounds on a new stick can make a dramatic impact.

Weight, balance and alignment, as well as a putter that just feels right, are such crucial factors on the greens that it is well worth investigating the available options.

Right now, some of the best around are produced by US company Rife, which boasts a superb range of putters to suit all styles.

For example, Rife's Two Bar Hybrid Blade Putter combines the traditional design with the latest technology.

It features Rife's distinctive and highly acclaimed weight bars protruding from the back of the face, as well as the traditional lines of its successful Barboados model.

Putterzone.com describes the result as "pretty cool", as "the Two Bar Hybrid effortlessly incorporates the Two Bar technology without disturbing the fundamental beauty of the Barbados, resulting in a putter that is truly the best of both worlds".

Meanwhile, Golf Monthly's review stated: "The way in which this putter was weighted makes it one of the most stable putters around.

"The wide milled grooves give an extremely soft feel but at the same time the ball rolls out beautifully. A lot to look down on at address but great for alignment," it added.

Also in the Rife range is the IMO Centre Shaft Putter.

Its all-aluminum putter head has 85 per cent of its total weight concentrated in the middle 40 per cent directly behind the face, which provides exceptional stability.

Just like the Two Bar Hybrid, Golf Monthly loved this club.

"It definitely encouraged a more positive stroke, which proved useful on distance judgement as well as committing to short putts - crucial under pressure," its review read.
