Players looking for a
golf putter that produces the goods on the green and benefits from high-quality construction should consider those in the Wilson 888 series, it has been suggested.
Writing for Golf Magic, Richard Green highlights that the arched secondary grooves that have been milled into the club's face are what set the range, which includes the
Wilson Staff 8882 Series golf putter and
Wilson Staff 8883 Series golf putter, apart from the competition.
As well as these grooves providing top spin and preventing a
golf ball skidding upon impact with the putter, Mr Green notes that they have "been carefully designed so that heel or toe hits impart a slight side spin on the ball that helps to straighten it out".
Meanwhile, he also remarks that players can profit from a "fantastic and solid" feel, while consistency is enhanced through alignment markings on more than one surface.
When testing those from the range, Mr Green was especially impressed by his improved distance judgement, with the putts he missed doing so by a smaller margin than is traditionally the case.
The range uses VDP Alignment Technology to help golfers ensure their putts begin on the right line, with the multi-surface markings enabling players to position their eyes in the correct line over the ball.
