Although many players may dream about holing a magical shot with their golf putter or reaching 300 yards with a golf driver, Hugh Grant takes it one stage further with his nightly escapades.
The 49-year-old actor, famed for films including Notting Hill and Love Actually, has revealed that his addiction to the sport is so bad that he wakes up in the early hours to practise his golf swing.
Grant has even gone as far as to state that his love of the game is preventing him from holding down a girlfriend, as he spends all of his spare time searching for ways to better his scores.
He said: "I'm obsessed and it's destroying my life. Golf is an addiction. I'll get out of bed in the middle of the night and practise my swing in front of the mirror.
"When you say to a girl 'I play golf' her eyes glaze over. I do feel guilty about my golf. You know you're a sad case when you spend your spare time reading books on putting or going on YouTube to watch slow motion golf swings."
Grant is a member at Sunningdale Golf Club, while he can also be regularly spotted hitting golf balls at some of the famous Scottish courses, including St Andrews and Carnoustie.
