So-called because they are designed to be used with golf carts, buggies or trolleys; cart bags are usually of a very robust design, with plenty of pocket space for all you could need in a round of golf. As a consequence they are heavier than stand bags, and are less suitable for carrying around the golf course.

Some cart bags are specially designed to be used with specific trolleys, so you should make sure that the bag you are thinking of buying is compatible with your trolley and vice versa.
