Most packages contain the following clubs, or a similar alternative:
1 x Driver
1 x Fairway Wood
9 x Irons (3-9 irons, pitching wedge and sand wedge)
1 x Putter
Check out each club set we have to make sure that you get the right clubs. Some sets do not offer a driver and instead give an extra fairway wood. This is because beginner golfers typically struggle when using a driver and benefit more from the shorter fairway wood.
Many sets also offer hybrids in place of the longer irons (3-5) which makes it much easier to hit the ball straight and far. You may also want to consider looking at packages that offer hybrid sets, where the clubs become more and more like a hybrid the longer the club gets.
The short clubs (8 iron-SW) are usually quite similar to normal irons, while 5-7 irons have larger heads and more perimeter weighting and look like a mix between a hybrid club and an iron. The long clubs are then hybrid clubs which are very forgiving.
These sets work under the principle that as the club gets longer, it gets harder to hit the ball, so they are made more forgiving.
