Nike Golf's Wie disconsolate after Hawaii slip-up
Michelle Wie could not hide her frustration after throwing away a three-stroke lead at the SBS Open in Hawaii.

Searching for her first career win on the LPGA Tour, Wie crumbled on the back nine to allow Angela Stanford to sneak a win after a final round of 70.

Wie posted a final round of 73 and let her chance of a maiden victory slip away - the 19-year-old was not happy despite the high-placed finish.

The Nike Golf star commented: "It's a good start to the year, I guess.

"It has been a long time since I had been in that situation and I was shocked it got away. At the same time I had a good run and shall take a lot of positive aspects out of the week."

Wie has not won any event since an amateur competition back in 2003, prompting many leading ladies to question why she continues to receive invitations to play at men's tournaments.
