Paul Casey said he was "ecstatic" after winning the Volvo Golf Champions event in Bahrain, his first title on the European Tour since his BMW PGA Championship triumph in May 2009.
He clinched victory by a single stroke over Miguel Angel Jimenez and Peter Hanson after a decisive last hole.
Tied with playing partner Hanson going down the last, both players had putts inside ten feet for par.
However, while Casey made his par thanks to a confident stroke with his
Nike Method Putter, Hanson could not find the cup and ended up with a bogey five which dashed his title aspirations.
"I'm ecstatic with that," the Englishman said afterwards.
"I was going out there to play the golf course, and found a very difficult golf course in the end with the wind that picked up."
The world number six is now looking forward to a good showing at the first major of the year, the US Masters, in April.
