Tiger Woods has said he was "angry" with his own performance in the opening round of the USPGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club.
After a solid enough start, Woods' game fell to pieces and he finished the first day seven over the course par of 70 - his worst opening round display since 1996.
"I'm not down, I'm really angry," he said.
"There are a lot of words I could use beyond that."
He finished the day way down the field and a long way off early leader
Steve Stricker, who had a dream start to the competition, carding 63.
The 15th hole appeared to be Wood's undoing, as he saw his ball land in the lake before taking five shots.
There had been a great deal of talk about the notorious 260-yard par-three 15th hole before the tournament had even begun.
South African Charl Schwartzel had said that anybody taking on the hole would not be too dismayed at escaping with a bogey because of its unforgiving nature.
