Most players who spend their Sunday afternoons honing their craft out on the green would never dream of the chance of enjoying a hole-in-one victory.
So imagine the shock of a 68-year-old grandmother who defied odds of one million to one and achieved the coveted shot while on holiday with her husband in Egypt recently.
According to the Argus, Newhaven resident Margarett Stally bagged success on a par-four hole as partner Pete - who has been playing
golf for 30 years - looked on in surprise.
The albatross shot, which took place on the 283-yard long 11th and was three hits below the score expected on a single hole - was carried out at the Madinat Makadi Golf Club in Hurghada near the family's holiday retreat.
Ms Stally told the news provider: "We don't know any other woman golfer that has done it and we spoke to the county golfing association and they don't either."
