Lee Westwood Nails 15th Hole-in-One at CIMB Classic
Lee Westwood is making a run for the front at the CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur. On Friday the English golfer scored an impressive second round 65 that included a spectacular ace on the 11th hole.

Westwood’s 15th career hole-in-one was made using a hybrid club, covering 226-yards. A feat even the golfer was impressed with.

Going into the weekend tied for third, Westwood is confident in his game but also thankful for his good fortune on Friday.

Telling reporters, “You need a bit of luck, but at the same time you have to hit it straight - it happens now and then.” Adding, “A 65 has got me right into the tournament.”

Westwood will start tomorrow’s round at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club three strokes behind the leader, Billy Hurley III. The 41-year-old is hoping to have a repeat of the success he experienced on the same course earlier in the year when he won the Maybank Malaysian Open back in April.

With a $7 million USD purse up for grabs we’re pretty certain Westwood is hoping his luck continues throughout the weekend.
