Former US Masters champion Mike Weir has joined the growing band of players who are backing golfs inclusion at the 2016 Olympic Games.
High-ranking golf officials were in Beijing for this summers games to lobby the International Olympic Committee to include the sport as one of its wide-ranging schedule of events in ten years time.
And now Canadian Weir says that he believes that representing their country at The Greatest Show on Earth would appeal to big-name golf pros.
The TaylorMade endorsee commented It would be a thrill, he said. It would be an honor to represent your country in the Olympics. I think it would be great for the game.
It would be something to work towards if we knew it..
