Neumann’s Ladies Make History Across the Pond

Neumann’s Ladies Make History Across the Pond
It was a groundbreaking weekend for the Ladies European Team as they not only successfully defended their rights to the Solheim Cup, but were also able to claim victory on American soil for the first time in the biennial tournament’s 23 year history.

Liselotte Neumann’s team had been scrutinized in the days leading up the event for having six young and first-time Solheim Cup players on the roster. But age and experience did little to stand in the way of a European team determined and noticeably fired-up to make history.

The youngest, Charley Hull got the group off to a fantastic start on Sunday, beating American superstar Paula Creamer in the second match. The 17-year-old, who only turned pro in March of this year, was excited to prove those who doubted her wrong and even managed to score an autograph from Creamer after the match!

“I gave myself high hopes and I just wanted to prove people wrong. I'm 17 and people were wondering if I could perform under the pressure but I go out and enjoy it, which takes care of the pressure.”

While Sweden’s Caroline Hedwall’s carved out her own legacy in the history books, becoming the first player to win all five of her matches.

Admitting after her win, “This is definitely the biggest moment of my life golf-wise.  It's awesome. I was part of it at Killeen too but this beats it by far.”
