Pablo Larrazabal Jumps into a Lake to Escape Hornets

Pablo Larrazabal Jumps into a Lake to Escape Hornets
Pablo Larrazabal was forced to jump into a lake during the second round of the Malaysian Open to escape an angry swarm of hornets.

It was scene that on video looks quite amusing, but the reality for Larrazabal was anything but.  The 30-year-old was stung around 20 times as he walked along the fairway at the Kuala Lumpur Country Club.  After his caddie told him to run, Larrazabal headed towards the lake and jumped in for cover.

“They were three times the size of bees,” the Spaniard said afterwards.  “It was the scariest moment of my career, for sure.  I’ve never been so scared.”

After receiving treatment Larrazabal continued his round and birdied the hole he was forced to take refuge from.  Finishing the day at 4-under 68.
