Scott Jamieson enjoys early lead in India
Scottish professional Scott Jamieson showed he is a force to be reckoned with by flying into an early lead on the opening day of the Avantha Masters, which is taking place at the DLF Golf & Country Club.

The talented 28-year-old - who finished in a share for fifth position in last week's Omega Dubai Desert Classic - displayed his impressive form with five birdies and just one dropped shot over the opening 13 holes.

Jamieson - who turned professional in 2006 - stormed in front of Swedish player Oscar Floren, Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat and native competitors Anirban Lahiri, Shamim Khan and Vivek Bhandari.

Defending champion SSP Chowrasia, John Daly and former US Open Championship runner-up Gregory Havret were among the afternoon starters at the hotly-contested event.

Jamieson finished an impressive 59th on the Race to Dubai during his first year on the European Tour in 2011, signalling that he could become one of the major contenders for success in 2012. ADNFCR-1532-ID-801294651-ADNFCR
