Severe Rain Forces BMW Championship to Enter its Fifth Day

Severe Rain Forces BMW Championship to Enter its Fifth Day
After a stunning performance Friday and a steady round Saturday, leader Jim Furyk was forced to sit back yesterday as torrential rain postponed what could be his first PGA Tour win in three years.

“The bad news -- obviously, I'm anxious to get out there and play, as is everyone else,” said the 43-year-old.  “But the good news is no one wants to go out and play in this and slop it around in bad weather on a golf course where we're playing the ball down and it's probably a little too wet out there.”

Only six players including Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood were able to finish their final rounds yesterday.  With Furyk and Tiger Woods never getting the opportunity to strike before officials called off play for the day.

Final round action of the BMW Championship will resume today, pending a more favourable forecast.
