TaylorMade’s #BuildTheClub Revealed as the R15 Driver
TaylorMade Golf has released its latest metal wood designs, the R15 Series. Reintroducing the brand’s incredibly successful R-range in the form of a driver, fairway and rescue club, all aimed at delivering game-changing results.

A couple of weeks ago TaylorMade invited members of its Instagram community to help build its newest creation. Last Friday the club was revealed as the R15 driver to excited fans around the globe.
Following the success of the brand’s SLDR Range, TaylorMade has continued their mission to get golfers to “Loft Up” with the R15 driver. Featuring their most adjustable loft-sleeve this impressive club allows for 12 distinct settings, giving you the opportunity to alter the face angle, lie angle and loft preference.

Further enhancements include not one, but two shifting weights on the club head. This new Front Track System helps to make adjusting your driver quicker and easier than ever before.

Both 12.5 gram-weights can be moved together or separately, depending on your adjusting preferences. Acting like a speed pocket, the Front Track System works by increasing the sweet spot and decreasing spin. Moving them at the same time will emphasize a draw or fade result. While repositioning the weights separately will help to add distance or stability.

“R15 harnesses our world-class portfolio of technological advancements engineered over the last 15 years,” Brian Bazzel, Senior Director of Product Creation for Metal woods at TaylorMade explains.

“It performs incredibly in a package that looks great, sounds great and can be easily fitted to any player. Everything we know about the metal wood, we’ve put into R15; golfers will see that, feel it and sense it with every swing. It’s a special driver.”

Lighter than the SLDR by 4 grams, the R15 driver also features an even lower and more forward centre of gravity than the former. Combined with its more front facing track as well as its redesigned weight system, TaylorMade research has found that the R15 reduces spin by about 100 to 200 rpm and increases launch by 0.5 to 1.0 degrees compared to the SLDR 460.

Available in early January, the R15 driver is offered in 460cc, for those golfers looking for maximum forgiveness and confidence on the tee. While the R15 430cc is visibly smaller at address and resembles some of the brand’s drivers from the past.

The crown of the club comes in an exciting white gloss finish accentuated by a contrasting black PVD face and sole that helps aligning at address. An exclusive gloss black version is also available for the R15 460.
