Tiger Woods Insists he won’t be Beating Arnold Palmer’s Record
While a strong love of the game must be present for any professional athlete to continue competing, for Tiger Woods the ability to win will always remain his top priority.

As the current number one player in the world, Woods is still exhibiting prime form on the golf course.  While he might not have won a major in the last five seasons, the Nike player has been able to win more than his fair share of tournaments and was named the PGA Tour Player of the Year for 2013.

So when reporters asked him last week if he sees himself still playing into his golden years Woods candidly responded saying, “Let me put it to you this way.  I'm not going to beat Arnold's record.  I'm not playing that long, that's for sure.”

Palmer holds the record of playing in 50 consecutive Masters tournaments, the last of which was in 2004.  But Woods has a different take on what makes his golfing career worthwhile.

“For me, I always want to win.  So if I can't win, why tee it up?  That's just my own personal belief.  And I know what it takes to prepare to win and what it takes to go out there and get the job done, and there's going to become a point in time where I just can't do it anymore.”
