A bad back is still plaguing world number 1
Tiger Woods. Forcing the 38-year-old to withdraw from the Arnold Palmer Invitational this weekend at Bay Hill.
“I personally called Arnold today to tell him that, sadly, I won't be able to play in his tournament this year,” Woods stated on his website yesterday.
“Unfortunately, my back spasms and the pain haven't subsided.”
With only a few weeks left until the Masters, the first major of the year, many are questioning whether the Nike player will be able to compete. But Woods isn’t getting too far ahead of himself just yet. Choosing instead to concentrate on getting fit and ready to return to the course.
Woods wrote, “It's too early to know about the Masters, and I will continue to be evaluated and work closely with my doctors. I feel badly that I won't be able to play in this great tournament this week.”
The American won at Bay Hill last year for the eighth time. This weekend was scheduled to be his last tournament before the Masters next month.
