Victoria Golf Club to Hold Championship for the First Time in Almost 40 Years
The best female golfers in the world are set to descend upon Melbourne for the 2014 ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open early next year. From the 13-16 of February the ladies will be playing at the Victoria Golf Club, marking the first time a championship has been held at the course in nearly 40 years!

Confirmed participants include Australia’s own Karrie Webb and last year’s champion, Jiyai Shin from Korea.

With two big names already on board Golf Australia CEO Stephen Pitt is confident more top players will quickly follow, ensuring the 2014 championship is a huge success.

“Together with World Number 6 Karrie Webb and defending champion Jiyai Shin, we’ll be in a position to confirm more of the world’s top 10 players coming to Melbourne in the months ahead for what will be a terrific week of summer golf in Melbourne.”
