Golfers who enjoy a bottle of fine wine as much as a round of golf in the sunshine will be pleased to know that a Golf & Wine Academy will be held in California this October.
Known for tasty Cabernet Sauvignons and Chardonnays as well as courses such as the Pebble Beach Golf Links, California would seem a fitting location in which to celebrate two of the world's favourite pastimes.
The venture is being launched by Cork and Tee and will take place in Livermore Valley near San Francisco from October 16th to 19th.
Golf tuition is combined with wine tasting instruction, with the chance to play 45 holes on two northern California courses and a French cookery lesson thrown in for good measure.
The travel firm's co-founder Gene Holland explained: "Cork and Tee is all about enabling upscale travellers to pursue their passions. Much more than simply a golf school, this program is designed as an opportunity for enrichment and enjoyment in a bucolic setting that is quintessential California."
Similar offerings for wine-loving golfers are now available in Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, France and Argentina.
