Heavy putter induces "muscle stroke"

Friday 25 April, 2008
Heavy putter induces "muscle stroke" A putter which weighs in nearly twice as much as conventional clubs has earned glowing reviews from golf product analysts. The new DF G3 putter from Boccieri is designed to induce the use of more of the muscles of players when making a stroke and encourage a smooth, pendulum-like action.A 250 gram insert placed near the top of the putter shaft provides a 75 per cent higher weight distribution than in conventional putters.Kiel Christianson of World Golf commented: "Because the putter is so heavy, it is quite difficult not to really power through the short ones, and if alignment is off, they'll run a long way past the cup. "What worked best on putts within two or three feet was to take the putter back just a few inches, and just kind of let it fall back toward the ball."The product was given a timely endorsement when Frenchman Adrien Mork whizzed round for a 59 at the European Challenge Tour's Morrocan Classic in 2006 using the heavy putter.Check out the Heavy Putters here
