Young girls are being encouraged to get out on the golf course with a newly-launched set of Barbie-branded clubs.
The new equipment is being marketed by toy manufacturer Mattel and will be unveiled at women's tournament the 2008 Kraft Nabisco Championship later this week.
Children will be invited to work on their swing at the event, with a Mattel Barbie Golf Clinic being run to promote the new kit.
LPGA rookie Anna Rawson has been brought in to coach the youngsters with the help of junior golf coach James Pugliese.
Daniel Swartz, president of Specialized Sports Management who are working with Mattel on the project, told California's Desert Sun: "It's an untapped market."
He continued: "The whole plan is to get youth golf rolling. If Anna changes two to three kids' lives that day, it's a great home run."
While, the original Golf Date Barbie doll was launched in 1992, the new clubs aim to increase activeness in kids by encouraging them to learn the basics of the game.
