The Royal and Ancient Golf Club will host a conference to discuss golf sustainability across Europe at St Andrews at the end of May.
Experts from both golfing and environmental circles will congregate at "The Course for Europe" conference.
Guest speakers will include Gordon Shepherd, director of international policy for the World Wildlife Fund and Nicholas Hanley, head of communication and governance for the European Commissions environment directorate.
Over 100 other delegates from around the globe are also expected to attend.
The Royal and Ancient said in a statement: "The presence of delegates from outside the world of golf will give many of the attendees a rare opportunity to hear first-hand how policy makers and prominent non-governmental organisations view the games environmental impact."
More than 20 of golf's governing bodies are expected to send representatives to the event, as well as greenkeeper associations, turfgrass consultancies and research organisations.
