Greg Norman has been handed an invitation to next month's PGA Championship at Oakland Hills on the back of his marvellous showing at the Open last week.
The Shark came close to becoming the oldest golfer to win a major with his third place finish at Royal Birkdale, having led after rounds two and three.
Now the PGA has recognised his resurgence by offering a golden ticket to the next major on golf's calendar, starting on Thursday, August 4th.
Norman is pondering over whether his 53-year-old body will withstand another major such a short time after his exploits at the Open.
He commented: "It is a great honor to be thought of in that regard but that would be four weeks in a row and I woke up a little stiff this morning."
"I have had multiple surgeries and those do start to show up when I hit a lot of golf balls and I have to be careful, although fitness has never been a problem with me."
