Justin Rose is aiming to go one better at Wentworth this year after being beaten in a play-off at the 2007 BMW PGA Championship.
After experiencing a tough time in the US, Rose is seeking to galvanise his season with a good showing at the tournament, which tees off today (Thursday, May 22nd).
The 27-year-old captured the European Order of Merit last year, taking the Australian Masters and Volvo Masters, but hasn't replicated 2007's performances in a disappointing start to 2008.
He told the BBC: "Last year Wentworth was a key week for me in terms of a platform for a good year, so I am hoping it will, again, be a good tournament for me to get some form going.
"This is almost my home event and I want it on my resume one day and this year would be great to go one better."
Rose's group is sure to attract a sizable band of followers on the first day at the Surrey course, with Jose Maria Olazabel and US Open champion Angel Cabrera accompanying the British hope.
