England's Justin Rose has pleased officials at the London Golf Club by confirming his participation in the European Open this July.
Rose's inclusion will be an added bonus for the home crowd at the Jack Nicklaus-designed course near Brands Hatch in Kent.
General manager of the London Golf Club, Heath Harvey, commented: "It is fantastic news that Justin is playing in the European Open.
"He is a real crowd-puller and, judging by his recent performances which include winning the 2007 European Tour Order of Merit, he is certainly going to be a leading contender for the title."
Organisers are attempting to draw a big crowd for the event, offering free tickets for the first day, with the promise of discounted entry for the weekend's proceedings.
Colin Montgomerie will walk on to the course as champion, having beaten Sweden's Niclas Fasth by a stroke at Ireland's K Club last year.
