Tiger Woods is on course of a return from injury at the US Open next month.
The world number one has revealed he is happy with his rehabilitation from a knee operation and has marked down June 12th at Torrey Pines as a comeback date.
According to reports, Woods had originally planned to make an appearance at the Memorial tournament in Ohio starting on Thursday (May 29th) but has not had as much time with club in hand as he would have liked.
The two-time US Open champion commented: "Going to Memorial that rusty, it wouldn't have made any sense.
"I wasn't sharp enough. I didn't hit all my shots I needed to hit yet at home and make sure everything is organised. I wasn't quite ready, so no sense in going there not ready.
Meanwhile, Ernie Els has confirmed he will appear at the Memorial following a failure to make the cut at last week's BMW PGA Championship.
