In-form world number one Tiger Woods believes having Lady Luck on-side is an essential component of a tournament-winning formula.
The current PGA Championship champion, who has recently hit a purple patch even by his own sky-high standards, told the BBC that good fortune has contributed to a run of seven straight triumphs.
He said: "You cannot win events without having a break here and there.
"You can hit a borderline shot. It could easily bounce one way, but all of a sudden it bounces your way and ends up on the green and you make a putt.
"Little things like that happen. I have never played an event without having one break go my way in order to win."
Wood's chance to secure an eighth victory comes at one of his favourite events, the American has won the WGC-CA Championship six times previously, since its creation in 1999.
