Inimitable Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez won the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth on Sunday (May 25th) after the second hole of a sudden death play-off.
Jimenez posted a score of 68 in his final round, finishing level with Englishman Oliver Wilson on 11-under par.
The pair had been positioned in second before the last day of the tournament behind leader Sweden's Robert Karlsson who eventually slipped down the leaderboard to finish tied for third on nine-under.
During the play-off, a birdie four on the 18th was good enough to give Jimenez the victory after both players had made par on the first hole of the deciding stretch.
The cigar smoking redhead, who rose to the top of the European Tour Order of Merit following the victory, commented: "This is my 20th season on the Tour and to win the most important tournament on The European Tour on my 20th anniversary, is great, fantastic."
Jimenez's win represents a set of all three BMW crowns after successes at the BMW Asian Open and BMW International Open in 2004.
