Thomas Levet completed his comeback from two years out with a career-threatening injury with victory in the Andalucia Open yesterday (Sunday, March 30th).
The Frenchman, who had suffered a set back after being laid low with vertigo, beat young Englishman Oliver Fisher in a sudden death play-off.
Levet cashed in after Fisher bogeyed the 18th and the two players finished level on 16-under for the tournament.
The 39-year-old, runner up in the 2002 Open, commented: "I think my experience told a lot at the end. Today I was calm all the time and I just kept telling myself to hang on because I know from all my previous experiences in golf that anything can happen.
"Oliver made it very tough for us all day long as he was playing super golf, but I told myself that the finishing holes here are very difficult and you never know what might happen."
Last year's champion Lee Westwood bogeyed the eighth and nine holes of the final round, managing only a third place finish in defence of his crown.
