Home favourite Jose Maria Olazabel finished on one under par in his comeback at the Andalucia Open after registering a respectable 71 in yesterday's (Thursday, March 28th) first round.
Olazabel overcame windy conditions to come through his first competitive round in seven months and will be hoping to put together a run of form ahead of next month's US Masters, of which he is two-time champion.
"My back got a little tired towards the end but I scored better than I expected," said the Spaniard at the end of the day.
He had warned fans before the event: "I would not like people to get a wrong idea of the situation - I don't want anybody to think that I am back. I am not completely recovered, neither am I feeling a hundred percent. This is just a test."
Lee Westwood led the field by a stroke after day one in southern Spain, on seven-under par.
