Australian Scott Strange had romped to a four shot lead by mid-morning today (Friday May 30th) in the Welsh Open at Celtic Manor.
Strange had stretched his one shot overnight lead, reaching an outstanding 11-under par after eight holes, with Raphael Jacquelin of France, England's Paul Waring and Italian Edoardo Molinari positioned at seven-under.
Yesterday (Thursday, May 29th), Strange had enjoyed a brilliant start, taking birdie on six of his opening eight holes.
Last night the 31-year-old, who made it round in 63, commented: "I think any time that you shoot eight-under you have got to be satisfied."
He said of the pleasant conditions in south Wales: "When the weather is that good and you are playing well you know there is going to be a low score."
Detailing his comeback from a tendonitis problem, Molinari revealed he had been helped by the medical team at AC Milan football club.
