Oliver Wilson, the Englishman still looking for his first European Tour victory, refused to let a fourth runners-up spot of the season stop him from feeling upbeat about the future.
The 27-year-old was beaten in a sudden death play-off by Miguel Angel Jimenez at the BMW PGA Championship on Sunday (May 25th), condemning him to second spot for the seventh time.
A philosophical Wilson commented: "I think things might change a little bit now, but to compete in this tournament, which is a fantastic tournament, that's what I wanted to do and that's sort of the next progression."
The Mansfield-born player did his chances of making Europe's team for this September's Ryder Cup no harm, moving up to eighth place in the qualification list.
His countryman Luke Donald recorded the best final round score at Wentworth - a 65 tied him for third with fallen overnight leader Robert Karlsson.
