The field of the BMW Championship at Wentworth - which starts today (Thursday, May 21st) - will feature some big international and domestic names.
Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen and Angel Cabrera head the cast of international imports, while Padriag Harrington, Justin Rose, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke will do battle for Britain.
Els will be aiming to amend a record which has seen him win at the course seven times in the World Match Play event, but never at the BMW Championship.
Quizzed on any reason behind the curious statistic, the South African told the Associated Press: "To be honest, I'm not sure. At the Match Play there is only a 16-man field and by the end only two guys, so the greens are very, very good."
He added: "Here this week we have 156 guys trampling all over the greens, so they will get a little bumpy."
Els has recently worked with swing coach Butch Harmon, using two white sticks placed on the ground as a way to check his body alignment.
